The New Olympic Sport....Donut Hurling!

So my friend Cody from college told me a really funny story the other day...I shouldn't really divulge all of the information - but the jist is 4:00 in the morning and donut hurling...the new olympic sport, lol.

And the punchline was "free donuts" as you can imagine...

I had sooo much fun making this card - I hope she doesn't read my blog (or at least not until I send this to her!!)
My papers were white and kraft cardstock with PTI's raspberry fizz. I used glimmer mists on the kraft (love those! can you tell from my previous post?) and I used my SU hostess stamp set "donut be sad" and colored in the donuts with my CTMH markers, doodlebug glitter and kaiser craft pearls. The ribbon and "free" stickers from Micheal's and the "donuts" are thickers. On the inside I just used one of the leftover donuts.
Like I said - this card was super fun and I can't wait to hear how Cody liked it!!
Enjoy!! :)

Memorial Day and Glimmered Soldiers!

I appreciate all of our soldiers fighting for our wonderful country. I pray for the fallen soldiers, the ones away from their homes and for the families that miss each and every one of them.

I hope everyone enjoyed their Memorial Day. Unfortunately, I had to work for the first part of the day (taking down that wedding you saw in the previous post).
But the second half of the day was wonderful - all of our friends came over to our house for a BBQ - FUN! Christy made some really yummy, really strong sangria (I needed that).

(Upper left is Michaela, Upper right is Christy, Bottom left is Naomi and me on bottom right! Our husbands were outside chillin' and grillin').

Michala brought over some delicious cake and I made an arrangement of sahara (champagne) roses, silver curly willow and silver wire that I took from the wedding (don't worry, the wedding was long over by then) and I designed it in my wine carafe...cute huh!?! I thought this picture was very patriotic...lol.
Oh by the way...so I'm obsessed with glimmer mists - all the colors - they're just so beautiful. And mixed with Tim Holtz's masks....it's a match made in scrap heaven!

This was the order that my friend Naomi and I placed - we got about a dozen each. MMM yum.

Here's a look all lined up like little soldiers :)

I highly suggest this purchase!
Ahh....wonderful.

Congratulations - a touch of elegance

I made this card for a very formal, glamorous wedding I set up for work and was invited to attend. I went out and bought fancy paper and gemstones from Michael's...because I knew this couldn't be any so-so card.

I had seen a card (sorry, don't remember the website) and I got the inspiration from this card. I used 2 cuttlebug types on the front and scored two lines in between. Then I put gold crinkled paper behind it, then embossed with another folder, then gold paper then white cardstock.

The front I embossed with versamark and then put some gold embossing powder and heated it. Then I applied 3 gemstones on each side.

The inside I inked with gold ink (from Brillance) - the stamp was a damask from Micheal's $ bin) and then used Archival Ink (Tim Holtz) in black over it - PTI's mega mixed messages. Then I put 2 more gemstones and did a banner of the gold paper.

You can't see it, but I wrote my name on the back with a versamark pen and embossed it in gold - so she would know I made it myself.

Also - just to give you a clue of how beautiful this wedding was...I've included a picture. Our designer said she's never used so much fabric on a chuppah before!! lol

This picture doesn't even do justice (the cake is under the chuppah...this was during the reception).
And my dinner was absolutely delicious - I ate the entire thing!!
Fabulous!

Don't Just Stand There...

BUST A MOVE!

I did this for the Mojo Monday sketch challenge...but never got around to posting. GOSH!

I thought it was really fun!

I know someone will enjoy it for their birthday (...anybody's birthday coming up soon?)

The paper is BamPop! also PTI and American Crafts

The foam stickers are from my friend...don't know where she got them (and they didn't have a 2 so I had to make it...I know, it looks a little bootleg, but that's ok! lol)

I cut the robot from BamPop's paper - woo!

Also, the "bust a move" I created from CTMH's doodlebug alphabet stamps.

...if you want it...you got it...hey, bust a move!

THX

Just playin around last week and came up with this. The yellow netting in the back is actually from the flower shop that I work at (it's a gerbera daisy net). Neat huh? Yeah!! I found some in hot pink and orange too!
The paper is new...I think they are both lime rickey and the ribbon is from Michael's.
The foam letters are from my friend...who knows where she got them! They came in a cylinder plastic container...?
Enjoy!!

All you need is...

LOVE!
Did you see it?
I made this for Naomi's "Whatever Challenge" weeks ago...and never posted...
I used my sale-a-bration stamp from SU (and fresh snow ink from PTI) and some chipboard shapes from Michael's that I made look like LOVE!
Cute huh? :)
Very simple and quick!

Cheer Up Buttercup

This card I did when I first got in my new umbrella stamp set from PTI. I sponged some clouds and cut out others from paper (I made it so long ago, I can't even remember what the name of the paper is! or what co.or inks I used!)

But the ribbon is from Michael's and the button is from creative cafe.

I thought it was a cute card, hope you do too!

Nite!

Thinking of You

I missed the caardvarks challenge like 2 weeks ago...bummer...

it was a tree challenge. the only trees are have are from hero arts (which I used one here) and just stamped and then stamped again (before reinking) to make a shadow. The I used my glue pen and some microbeads.

I inked the sides with PTI ink (fresh snow) and stamped the sentiment with it too.

The sentiment is from SU (bird on a branch).

Finished off with some raffia.

Enjoy!

miss u

I Love Nestabilities...and full nights of sleep!

Super quick post tonight as I have put in 40 hours of work in 3 days...AH the holidays at a flower shop!

Anywho - I LOVE NESTABILITIES!

I really do...wow...these little babies are awesome, I just wish my scrap room wasn't 110 degrees, lol, Jim needs to fix the fan!!
The dot stamps in the background (on white cardstock) are PTI's polka dots stamps and raspberry fizz ink. The paper is all PTI minus the dark grey from a random set.
The little things in the corner are adhesive embellies from Joann's and I finished off the front flower with glossy accents in the white dots (thanks Sarah!!)
And of course...nestabilities "Peony". Yum
Off to bed I go!

Color Challenge - Fabulous Friend!

Great colors Kristina! For some reason, I always end up having to make at least 2 cards though...because I'm not happy with the first. They tend to be a little bit "busy"...and I'm really trying to do simple and clean. Ugh.

Well, this is my interpretation:

I had some uber-fabulous new supplies (yeah!) that I found all over the place.

luding Peachy Cheap (um hello, awesome deals!) - they only sell 1 thing a day but I've noticed you need to visit early in the day or the SELL OUT! goo...i don't like it when they sell out.

So that is where I got my American Crafts "Flair" - I got 5 packages for like $3.99 - woah! (This is the high heel shoe)

The little clear pins are from Michaels - on clearance - and the FABULOUS tulle is from our local store, K2. I love them over there!

The pink and white papers are PTI - "Raspberry Fizz" and the yellow is American Crafts. The "abulous" and "riend" are both from PTI's Mega Mixed Messages. The big glittery chipboard is from Michael's and the chocolate ink is Brillance (which you can buy at Michael's).

I love the way this card turned out - I hope you do too!

Nite all - by the way, don't forget your mother/grandmother/etc this Sunday!
