Thank You Series: Card 5 (Final)

So, I did some more embossing...and it came out ok!
I use PTI's rustic cream for EVERYTHING lately...it's just beautiful and heavy-duty and I love that it's not just plain white or cream, it has little specks in them! It should definitely be in your next wishlist! Along with the "In Bloom" stamp set ...and the text style, and...everything. I love PTI (I feel like a spokesperson!)
recipe:
paper: pti, su
ink: versamark, colorbox moss green, pti chai and chamomile
white embossing powder: michaels
stamps: pti in bloom, pti butterfly kisses, pti background basics
crystals: michaels

Thank You Series: Card 4 (Soaring!)

Oooh fun...it's been a looong time since I've embossed. I really didn't care for the process before (which is why I haven't done it in so long) but it's really not too bad now! Yes, I tricked myself! hahaha
I wanted to feature some super cute new stamp sets that I just got...my kit of the month from Unity Stamp and Papertrey Ink's new Everyday Button Bits that was just released on the 15th of this month!
Mmm...love!
recipe:
paper: pti rustic cream, su baja blue (?)
stamps: pti mega messages, everyday button bits, unity july kotm
ink: colorbox moss green; archival ink sepia, versamark
buttons: pti
embossing powder: michaels

Thank You Series: Card 3 (Butterfly Kisses)

Gotta love punches, right? Don't they just make life easier? I think so!!
recipe:

Lots of pink...I guess I can't send this one to my father-in-law! lol.
I love the rounded corners and the spacing. The "leaves" were an after-thought, but I like it much better - it needed something.
Enjoy!

I had a lot of fun making these cards...it's my series of thank yous!
Enjoy!

Get Well Soon

I made this a long time ago for my husband's (step)grandmother - she was in the hospital and I wanted to send her a card.
I like this - I used my nestabilities and cork sheets; paper is PTI - button is random. Stamp is from $1 bin at Michaels - score!!
Enjoy!!

Friends Forever!

Another quick post...I made this probably last week. I think It's cute and it reminds me of my friends - I'm like the gator, Christy likes giraffes and the elephant (sorry Na - it's not to say you look like an elephant) it was just cute!!

Paper - can't remember, but these are cute from it; rub ons from SU; paper from PTI

:) Enjoy!!

Monster Friends

I made this at the last Scraptherapy I went to (like over a month ago). I couldn't seem to get inspired by anything, so I ended up just making really goofy cards the whole night (from like 7 to midnight).

I don't remember where the paper is from...oops but the paper is PTI and the rub-on is SU

Short and (scary) post....enjoy!

Happy Grad!

I am going back through my pictures to find the cards I never posted...this is one of them! I just didn't want Chelsea to see this card before I gave it to her for graduation. It's hard to believe that she is heading up to Arizona next month - she'll be missed at Scrap and Dash at K2 - you are a lot of fun Chels, and we'll look forward to your visits!
This card is very much inspired by Dawn McVey. She is super talented and I follow her blog closely!

It was nice to hear that Chelsea loved the card!! Enjoy!

Supplies:
all PTI (papertrey ink) except for the lace (Joann), buttons (Walmart), ribbon and felt (both from Michaels)

And It's.....Good!!

Yesterday, my husband and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary! Holy moly! We had a beautiful day together - we woke up late, drove around Casey Key and looked at some unbelievable mansions (dreaming that we would someday have one, lol) and stumbled across this cute little restaurant right on the water called "Pops". We saw tons of boats go by and Jim even spotted a large stingray (like 2 ft wide) jumping out of the water!! We went home and watched "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" at like 2 in the afternoon (it was the only thing on, but it's a cute movie!). Afterwards, we went to Mr. Bones on Anna Maria Island for some BBQ ribs....YUM...and finished dinner off with some delicious Key Lime Pie. We haven't been there is years and everything is still perfect!
So, I'm sure you're all wondering...are we those types of people that would traditionally wrap our wedding cake and freeze for an entire year so we can have a bite on our 1 year anniversary?? BINGO! The whole year it's been in there. Thank goodness my mom reminded me to defrost it overnight!

Here is a picture of my hubby and I cutting the cake at the wedding. Ugh, I just adored my cake, it was exactly what I had envisioned. We got it from Mr. Cheesecake (yes, cheesecake!!) in Bradenton. I wanted writing on the cake with words to represent inside jokes, phrases and song lyrics that my husband and I always say. I had seen a couple other cakes like it, but not exactly what I wanted - and mine just blew me away. Isn't the topper fab!? I didn't want anything traditional or boring, so I came across Shea Chic Designs on Etsy. OMG the girl was great!! She knew exactly what I wanted - and it got to me in perfect timing! I've checked back now and again - and she is completely booked with orders!! YEAH!

Ok - so back to the cake. It's been in the freezer a whole year -- and here it is!! I didn't even remember what flavor it was, lol. I remember the 3 layers were Bailey's CC, Turtle and Plain (then we had 3 sauces - raspberry, lemon and strawberry). So we dug in...it was strawberry filled!!

Alright, so we were scared about the first bite. When I asked Mr. Cheesecake if they had ever heard back from a Bride/Groom if it was still yummy after the first year, they said they hadn't - so we would be their guinea pigs! lol...great. Jim was pretty scared - I was excited, because it smelled really good!! And it was good!! I couldn't believe it. We only took the one bite because we were stuffed from dinner, but Jim did mention that he'd like to enjoy some more tonight.
So thanks for reading!!

My 1 Year Anniversary!

Wow the year has gone quickly. It's so hard to believe that tomorrow my husband and I will have been married 1 year. It feels like forever and no time all at the same time (I know, weird). He is the best husband I could have ever asked for and I don't know what I would ever do without him.

Being with him reminds me of one of my favorite quotes "If you live to be a hundred, I want to be a hundred minus one day, so I never have to live without you." Oh man, I'm such a sap, but that poem (A.A. Milne) gets me every time.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary early...we went to see Gavin DeGraw at the House of Blues, Orlando! He is just amazing and such a great performer. With him, Green River Ordinance opened up (never heard of them before, but really good) and Collective Soul was the headliner - holy, moly, they were incredible...Heaven let your light shine down...that one. But they have even more great songs that I had totally not ever realized was them - and some even hard rock -- I would definitely go see them again, very entertaining!! And best part - we were 4 rows of people standing away from the stage...we could see them sweat! YEAH! Great anniversary, and it will continue tomorrow :)
So I have to confess about the card...I have been having major blockage recently when it comes to scrapping. I think I may have too much stuff, it's overwhelming. So I scraplifted this design from somewhere (I don't know where, otherwise I'd give props...sorry!)

recipe:
paper: su red and kraft, pti rustic cream
ink: brillance poppy, pti vintage cream
stamps: ctmh key to my heart (flourish); hero arts heart, pti background text
misc: kaiser pearls, lace ribbon from joanns

Also, I got to give a shout out to Sheri -- Happy Anniversary to you and your hubby too (we have the same anniversary!! crazy!!)
Enjoy!

On a Happier Note

My last post almost brought me to tears, so I thought I would post something a little happier. Friends of ours are soon-to-be parents and unfortunately, I had to work a wedding setup and I missed their baby shower.

But I made them a really cute card, so I hope that makes up for it!!

There are due very, very soon -- check over at Christy's blog for pics (soon to be uploaded, hopefully)...she did a super cute photo shoot!

The paper is SU, sentiment is PTI, the CUTE baby-bump is Unity. The lace is from Joann and underneath, you can't really tell, but its some neat textured paper-like material that Europeans are wrapping bridal bouquets in (obviously, I got it from work, lol...I work at a florist in the wedding department).

It's stamped with Sepia Archival Ink and all finished off with some stickles in Platinum and crystals.

Enjoy!

With Sympathy

There have been so many tragic events happening to people all around me. Our lives are very precious and remember to love life and those around you.

To all those in a better place and all of us left behind, you'll be in my thoughts.

Vegas, Baby!

We just got back from our much needed vacation and I just wanted to share a few pictures! It was my first time in Vegas!! One of the companies my hubby works for sends us on a business trip "thank you" every year...and they even cover the spouses....wow!!

They put us up in the beautiful Venetian Hotel and we had a gorgeous view from our suite of the several pools below, the Treasure Island hotel and even the mountains in the background!

Look at the awesome view at night of the Strip....WOW!
There was just so much to look at - and so many lights - it was just beautiful!

I think one of my most favorite memories of the trip had to be the Bellagio fountains at night. There are no words to explain just how beautiful it was...it brought tears to my eyes. The picture doesn't do it justice...you have to see it for yourself (the song and pattern is different every time, too). Amazing.

Waking up the first morning was interesting...the alarm clocks didn't glow in the dark and the drapes were so dark that you had no idea what time it was!! Jim opened the blinds and it was sooo bright! yikes! We thought it was like noon (but it was like 8:00 am).

We walked the Strip a lot. We ate a lot, too. I'm sure I gained some poundage...oh well.

I think we saw pretty much every hotel. Here are a few pics from the Luxor (Egyptian theme). It was really, really, neat - Transformers 2 was advertised on a complete side of the Hotel!!
Here is a good shot of New York, New York and the lion at the MGM Grand.
That's it for now....off to dinner! More pictures later :)

Enjoy!!
